Awkward
Awkward Pt. 1
In collaboration with Katherine Yoon and Eunice Lee
We were fascinated by how awkward it is for people to have personal, face to face conversation now. Especially our generation and younger, we find it easier to express our emotions and have personal conversations through a screen and use it as a tool to hide awkwardness. We asked our friends personal questions and wanted to capture their expressions and moment of awkwardness.
Awkward Pt. 2
I wanted to challenge myself to create the represent the same feeling of awkwardness using a different media. I asked 35 of my friends if I could scan their butt with no rules or requirements. From there there was not only a sense of awkwardness when viewing the 35 butt scans but there was also a sense of awkwardness when asking my friends if they wanted to participate and the viewer imagining the process of how the scans came to be.
